adab bershopping online

i'm an avid online shopper. i used to buy my clothes (before i found out how cheap they are at the night market), accessories, craft supplies and other things from blog shops.

in real world, real shops, we meet the salesperson. sometimes, the salesperson is the owner too right? okay takda kaitan. but then, in real world we demand to be treated as a king or queen and we are always right. customers are always right. we always believe in that.

but then, what about blog shops? when we like something, we have no other choice but to either send an e-mail, facebook messages, sms as the seller normally refuse to take calls. of course, we have to respect people's privacy. so when a i e-mail a seller, i expect the same, equal treatment i got from the real-world shop. a good, friendly treatment. c'mon you're selling your stuff and you want people to buy. please don't send a cold reply as if we're robbing or asking it for free. 

in my case, i recently sent an e-mail requesting to buy something from someone. i asked politely, and her/his reply was "ada, rm90."

then i asked him/her a few questions, and the replies was  either yes, no, or hmm.

then i said okay i would like to buy the item

he/she reply "rm90"

i replied asking is there any shipment fee or something? and had to ask for the account number

he/she replied "inclusive, ************"

i mean hello?? why are you so cold towards your customer? imagine if we go to a shop, and the salesperson treated us that way? i'm so sure that we won't buy at all. we pay okay, we're not stealing.

i didn't buy from that shop. luckily i found a better blog selling better stuffs with better price. and the owner is a lot lot nicer too. please la ingat, your shop is not the only shop in the world selling that item.

i just received a few parcels yesterday and today from various places and i'm totally happy. like totally totally happy. i got my parcel from alia, from printed cotton, from mas and waiting for another parcel from may. and you know what, whoever invented the zipper foot is a super brilliant person. i love it so much, attaching zipper now is no longer a problem for me.

i love design*sponge for their great posts on diy and crafts ideas. from diy projects to home decorating ideas, i guess we can practically get ideas on everything from this website. since my old laptop crashed, i haven't had the time to search for lovely fonts that i can use while editing photos and design*sponge gave me the answer. 

there's a compilation on some cool fonts at the website that you can choose from. ada yang perlu bayar, and ada yang free that you can download for personal use. nice i feel like downloading everything! :)

tutorial: how to sew a bag(s)

i learnt to make bags, online. and from scrutinizing those bags i have at home. but it's not fair keeping the links to myself when i can share them with you guys. during my search, i went from one blog to another getting tutorials but little did i know that there's a super cool website that compiled every bag making tutorial in the whole word (okay, not all, but almost all)

sew weekend

of few things i made through the weekend, was supposed to make more but we went out berjoli on saturday so one day gone there. managed to sew some passport sleeves, cell phone roll (custom order) and a diaper pouch. i made two bags too. 

 

few more bags and pouch to finish before end of this week. i so want to buy a bigger stronger machine for myself. i feel like i'm killing my sewing machine now, the sound sometimes like it's screaming for help!

ramblings

last friday i got the chance to meet an old friend after years leaving college life. i remembered complaining to her of how much i loath leaving home these days. i haven't been here and there for months, just because i'm too lazy to drive. and also because my partner is not around, which brings to the laziness to drive. tapi duduk di rumah tak bermakna dapat berjimat duit, online shopping is heaven. but then alia, it's great to meet you again :) so looking forward for the sepang trip hehe

adekah normal merasa malas untuk keluar unlike those college days?

by the way, i watched 'you again' movie yesterday about marni and her high school arch nemesis who's marrying her brother. i love what her mother taught her, that everyone deserves a second chance. 

as you know my current craze now is sewing. :) and to find nice designer fabric with affordable fabric is so so hard here in malaysia. luckily there are some online shops like fabric fanatic, may may shop, lovemelots and nana's which sell nice cute fabbies for designer fabric lovers.

why designer fabric? because of the patterns and the fabric texture. when you see one, you'll know those are not from here and you will not easily see other people having the same pattern you have for your crafts. :) and yes, i'm using designer fabric for all my crafts and bags.

i asked around to fellow craft bloggers of where they got their supplies and mostly suggested etsy. which means, buy straight from the u.s. another search brought me to ween, a creative girl. she gave me some advice on how to purchase from etsy which saved me a lot compared to my previous purchase. and we even made an interesting swap too recently

so, if you want to buy in bulk. do buy from etsy. you will save a lot.

relationship: a man & a woman

i saw this quote at callajan's blog @ callajan only. do you find it true to your situation? 

in my relationship with partner, 'the woman' is so me, because i got mad at so many things (partner will surely nod his head again and again at the *angry* part) and partner is so 'the man'. since he is always there, supporting me through my ups and downs.

i have my own explanation on why i totally agree with this.what about you?

oh scrap!

i have some scraps from my previous projects and also some fat eights i bought from lovemelots. some scraps are too small, those are for buttons and some bigger pieces, i don't know what to do with them. then it came to me to sew a bag from scraps, and this is the outcome. 

a small bag with short handle, meant to be hold. handle pun dari scraps jugak, balance dari handle bag yang sebelum ni. boleh la letak botol air, buku oum, external hard disk and apa-apa lagi yang cute

nama pun scraps, so front and back memang tak sama kainnya. ini kes sambung menyambung la ni hehe

personally, i love this side. so i added some zig zag to stabilize the fabric.
now i don't have to use paper bag anymore

another tote i made last night. i still have another 3 larger totes, 2 small totes, 3 passport sleeves, 4 roll organizers, and a few box pencil cases to make. and since i only sew at night after baca buku, i can sew like one or two pieces only per night.. huhu siapa-siapa nak tolong?

 

just learnt how to sew buttonhole so terus add a button to the tote   hope you’ll like it ms.T

relationship: sparks

this adv really touched me. of how in relationships, love sometime fades. and you need to do something about it. i mean, of course u love each other but sometimes we are too busy with other things and moving on with our lives and we tend to neglect those small things that keep us close to each other.

visit to the past

last weekend was special as we took our mom back to a town where we used to live. it’s port dickson, the place my late dad was stationed at when he passed away. and ever since he left us, mom never return back to that place. so yes, awal-awal macam risau in case my mom cries or what, but it turned out well. maybe sebab the kids were around so she had no time to be mellow.

our first house when we moved to p.d. old colonial style, with scary store rooms but nice views. there used to be a huge tree with a swing attached to it and we so loved it. bawah tu, ada kubur. yes, ada kubur askar. 

that’s our second house. same size i think, but with a badminton court and jauh sikit dari kubur. a bit creepy there so i just snapped the photo from the previous house. i used to wait for the army trucks by the roadside. yes, we went to school with an army trucks and land rovers. after the house, off we went to the main army area (or so i thought) and stopped at the army museum. okay this is funny, out of nowhere mom went all ‘semangat’ nak amek gambar. she and my nephew, they are so not that type. normally they’ll go “no photos!!” every time we started posing n snapping.

when i saw this photo, it took me a while to recall what’s that thing, with the lines. u know, museum kan… creepy kan… then baru ingat, there was a small kid running in front of me and i was laughing at him. okay, so it’s not creepy lah. huhu lega.

bomb, no idea whether it’s real or not

they have helis, trucks, bicycles, berjenis-jenis kereta kebal. so we tried to see if we can take a ride.. that was it, didn’t complete the whole tour as it was hot and i’m not into museums. off we went to our hotel and swim and eat and eat and swim and sleep and balik s.a. we had fun of course. and i hope she had fun too.
