"Ya Allah, aku berlindung denganMu daripada kegelisahan dan kesedihan, dan aku berlindung dengan-Mu daripada sifat lemah dan malas, dan aku berlindung dengan-Mu dari sifat penakut dan bakhil, dan aku berlindung dengan-Mu daripada bebanan hutang dan penindasan manusia."

I got this from wani ardy's blog like a year ago..
Just to share with you guys again :)
It's painful, but it's so true

The longer you live, the more people you meet.
Some stay, some go. Some love you, some hate you.
Some love you first, and hate you later. Some hate you first, and love you later.
You change, people change. Still, you are you and people are people.
People can befriended you for a century but people can never perfectly know you.
People can make up stories and theories about you but people don’t make you.
You cannot hush people no matter how hard you try to vindicate,
the way people cannot deny your existence no matter how bad they make you look.

Either you don’t give a damn what others think or- you’re damned.

You are here. Let people bitch all they want. You are here.

passport wallet tutorial

i've been searching around for tutorial on how to make a passport cover and yeay i found the best tutorial ever! :)
but i'm still in thailand so i'll start cutting and sewing tomorrow..!

what i found at jatujak market

*sorry no photos, sebab takde camera cable*

we started our trip as early as 9am yesterday to the jatujak market. the plan was to get there, park our car at the jj mall, take a look at the market then off to old siam plaza by bts train, take a look there for the thai silk, then off to the palace as there's another shop under the queen's foundation which sells thai silk, and then back to jatujak by mrt. wah panjang kan trip itu, in a day.

so we parked our car and started walking around, the shops at the jatujak were not fully opened yet by then. worrapong told us that by the afternoon, the shops will all be opened and yup of course more people will come. i prefer the morning walk there. so we asked around for the price, luckily worrapong offered to walk us around so he asked and bargained for us. thanks bro!! :) after bargain, the price can be lowered to as low as 200baht. simple machine made thai silk (100% silk) will be around 500baht, and the pre-cut 4 yards silk with some prints on it will be around 1600baht and above. pening tau nak mencari, semua lawaaaa...!! scarf and shawls starts from 150baht (plain ones) up till 350baht depending on the patterns and prints.

we didn't find much choice for pre-cut silk so worrapong took us to the old siam plaza, we took the bts train to siam paragorn mall and tuk tuk to the plaza... man, our tuk tuk sounded like a ducati and it was adventurous and fun and funny too.. at old siam plaza, all silk are 100% handmade. and the price can be as low as 1200baht for pre-cut silk. as for the yardage silk, price starts from 250baht per yard for the plain ones, and 350baht per yard for the ones with prints on it.. oleh sebab tak cukup masa, nak bargain satu pun lama gila, tak sempat nak pilih banyak. bought one for myself, my mom and my fmil.

apa lagi eh, sambung nanti la pulak eh. will write again soon, once i got my camera cable.

of what you can do with your envelopes

ever thought of giving your journal or book a new look? okay tu mesti selalu fikir kan, but ever thought of getting the new look from your envelopes? credit card bills, dah dapat sure akan buang je kan. fret not, now you can make something out of your envelopes, and help in recycling. bagus betul.

here's a tutorial by julie from made in my free time. i think it's super easy, you just need couple of envelopes that can cover your journal or book, and if you wish to add ribbons or anything to tie it off then it's another option (but still easy peasy)

the part i hate most

the waiting part will start again, very very soon
do take a very good care of yourself
and come home really really soon

why should a muslim woman wear the hijab

a nice piece i got via honeypokapoka's tumbler.

1.You please Allah. You are obeying the commands of your Lord when you wear the hijaab and you can expect great rewards in return.

2.It is Allah’s protection of your natural beauty. You are too precious to be ‘on display’ for each man to see.

3.It is Allah’s preservation of your chastity.

4.Allah purifies your heart and mind through the hijaab.

5.Allah beautifies your inner and outer countenance with hijaab. Outwardly your hijaab reflects innocence, purity, modesty, shyness, serenity, contentment and obedience to your Lord. Inwardly you cultivate the same.

6.Allah defines your femininity through the hijaab. You are a woman who respects her womanhood. Allah wants you to be respected by others, and for you to respect yourself.

7.Allah raises your dignity through the hijaab. When a strange man looks at you, he respects you because he sees that you respect yourself.

8.Allah protects your honour 100% through your hijaab. Men do not gaze at you in a sensual way, they do not approach you in a sensual way, and neither do they speak to you in a sensual way. Rather, a man holds you in high esteem and that is just by one glance at you!

9.Allah gives you nobility through the hijaab. You are noble not degraded because you covered not naked.

10.Allah demonstrates your equality as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. Your Lord bestows upon you equal worth as your male counterpart, and gives you a host of beautiful rights and liberties. You express your acceptance of these unique rights by putting on the hijaab.

11.Allah defines your role as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. You are a someone with important duties. You are a reflection of a woman of action not idle pursuits. You display your sense of direction and purpose through your hijaab. You are someone that people take seriously.

12.Allah expresses your independence through the hijaab. You are stating clearly that you are an obedient servant of the Greatest Master. You will obey no one else and follow no other way. You are not a slave to any man, nor a slave to any nation. You are free and independent from all man-made systems.

13.Allah gives you the freedom of movement and expression through the hijaab. You are able to move about and communicate without fear of harassment. Your hijaab gives you a unique confidence.

14.Allah wants others to treat you – a Muslim woman - with kindness. And the hijaab brings about the best treatment of men towards you.

15.Allah wants your beauty to be preserved and saved for just one man to enjoy – your husband.

16.Allah helps you to enjoy a successful marriage through wearing hijaab. Because you reserve your beauty for one man alone, your husband’s love for you increases, he cherishes you more, he respects you more and he honours you more. So your hijaab contributes to a successful and lasting marriage relationship.

17.Allah brings about peace and stability in the society through the hijaab! Yes this is true! Men do not cause corruption by forming illegal relationships because you - the Muslim woman - calm their passions. When a man looks at you, he feels at ease, not tempted to fornicate.

start stamping my passport please

yeay, i managed to renew my passport today at shah alam imigration office. now renewal process is super fast where you can get your passport within one hour after you made your payment. renewal fee is the same like new application of rm100 for 2 years, and rm300 for 5 years.

one thing i didn't know is, if you want to renew like few months before the expiry date, and you're taking the 2 years period, the few months left on your previous passport will be forfeited ya. but if you're taking the 5 years one, ha yang tu dia carry forward tau. i didn't know, and i didn't carry enough cash of 300 so takpela halal kan je that 6 months i have in my passport.

and yeay! i'm leaving for a short trip to urm aarh aarhhh this friday and totally happy about it. tak kesah la bulan puasa pun kan, i'm still going. :)

*heart*

what's my password?

having this helpful function from google chrome or firefox which saved all the passwords, i tend to forgot my passwords easily. except for online banking, i hardly remember the passwords as i saved all of them at my google page.

but then, when my netbook chosed to go dead i had problems to remember all my passwords!! sigh~* yeah i have different passwords for bankings so there you go, not helping. different password for personal e-mail account and for blogging . finally, i had to change all of them. macam mana boleh tak ingat eh? i depend too much on the technology and see la where it took me to. forgetful ajjah.

so, jadi bijak sikit sekarang ni. i kept my passwords in my organizer. in a secret arrangement so people can't find them there, with hope that i myself won't forget too...! aaa urm do you have that problem too? or am i the only problematic person here?

    eid shopping outcome

i plan to do my eid shopping last weekend, nothing much to buy actually i just need to find a nice orange colored scarf to wear with my baju kurung during eid. but i was kept waiting for my companion for quite some time. so while waiting at empire shopping mall, from one shop to another i went and i found diva! :)
and the rest is you know what.

bought some rings, not as big as the first one. just something that i can wear to office, and bangles! :) i was worried that they won't look nice on me as i have small wrist, or worse they can just fall off from my hands hehe. but then, there was a beautiful lady with small wrist like mine, who wore loads of bangles and told me that i look okay with it. so, terus beli.

i am seasonal when it comes to accessories, i liked dangling earrings before but had enough of it, so now it's the 'ring season'.

of being happy with what you have

have a great first day of ramadhan

    i plan to..

since my bestfriend's baby is gonna pop-out anytime soon, i plan to make something for her. from my own bare hands (cewahh..), bought a few types of fabrics and once i finished my exams i'll start cutting and sewing. yeay!!

at first i plan to sew the baby a blanket, but the i bought the wrong material which is more suitable for toy making or teddies. but then, takmau la jahitkan teddies for a boy. i searched around popular bookstore (walaupun tak paham) and bought a craft book on toy making for babies. they have tractors la, lorry la maybe i can try that. another interesting idea given by nia was to sew a book for the baby, that's easy too. simple colorful books for the baby to play with.

here are some of my inspirations for the present:

storage bucket to store the toys (not to be hanged though) from the mother huddle
flash cards like this one from sew much ado
mr. potato head like what make it and love it made
quiet book (that's what they call it) like this one from homemade by jill (photo)

    what else ya, any suggestion?

    vintage

i guess this is from subang parade early days
    years and years ago
have you ever bump into something you never thought still available?

have a great monday and week ahead lovelies!

    Sunday, August 8

    zip up!

i made a new pouch to replace long time make-up pouch. as this is the only fabric supply that i have, so yes you'll be seeing me making things from this pattern only. he he :)

i made my pouch longer and sew the bottom so more things can be put inside. fara had a hard time believing that i actually made this, that's a good thing right?

    Saturday, August 7

have a great weekend dear lovelies, may you spend it wisely with your loved ones, who put the beautiful in your life

    30 photos for ramadhan

if you noticed, i am a member of sisterswhoblog network, where muslim bloggers from all over the world get together to mingle around and share our stories. and swb is also having their own blog, called sisterwhoblog magazine

one of the sisterwhoblog magazine project for ramadhan is to post 30 entries & pictures for the whole 30 days of the holy month. so, we would like to call upon the bloggers to take part in this project and share with us, your ramadhan photos. you can write about anything, your bazaar, your charity programs, anything on your ramadhan activity.

in order to take part in this project, i would suggest for you to join sisterwhoblog network, and post your name and your desired date in the discussion section. amber will then contact you and send the invitation for the blog. i would say that this is a very good opportunity to promote your blog internationally and to get to know other bloggers from other countries.

what you can do to your baby, when she's sleeping

this is super duper cute! adele enersen who's on maternity leave snap photos of her baby girl while she was sleeping. trying to capture what the baby was dreaming. so mommas, you can do this too while on your maternity leave, it will be a great memory for both you and baby :)

go and visit edele's page to see more of the photos, you'll go awwwwww by her photos.

    kerana mulut, badan binasa

just read the article given by the link queen today, and again i would love to highlight and as a reminder for myself, and also my readers to really think before we post something to our blog, facebook page, or commenting at other people's page. it's the same like really think before we say something. unless, you know who your readers are, and you know that they do understand when you are serious or when you are joking.

please be mindful, and do note that there are so many people out there who may be reading what you wrote. don't provoke sensitive issues like other people's culture, religions or even country as we never know how far readers can accept our opinions. the effect could do huge damage to yourself, you career, social life, everything. it could be worse if you got arrested for your 'joke'.

    that's all i guess. sama-sama ingatkan masing-masing la ok?

for those who are wondering how exactly can a hijabi wears headband with hijab. here's a good example on how you can dress up with headbands. i got this tutorial by shasharishi from shasharishi the big cover up blog. i find her hijab style is unique and something new & different from others.

she's using metal headband here. but you can use your creativity to use other types of headband that you like. to learn how to style your hijab with headband, you can follow her tutorial here

meanwhile, don't forget to join my giveaway. and please state there whether you want the headband or the coffee vouchers.

all photos are from shasharishi's blog

    i love u, do u love me?

i got this from an e-mail i received yesterday, quite an interesting way to educate people about the functions of liver. there's also tips on how to take a good care of your liver, but i'll post it later since this is too long already. enjoy and hope you'll learn something from this entry :)
