felt craft, do you?

my latest craze is felting

i bought a few felt fabric from online shops and started felting since 2 days ago. last year when i went to a craft shop at the garden midvalley, i was down because a piece of felt costs rm20 over and i was convinced that felt is expensive here.

but then, thanks to marina, she found a few blogshops selling felt craft supplies at very low price and i am thrilled and geared up to start my craft projects!!

ini pulak, tempat cucuk jarum. i can put my needle here so they won't get lost and bite someone else's butt.. hehe.. to sum up, blogshops are really really useful...!!

from pashmina to cardigan

do you get pashminas as souvenir whenever your acquaintance get back from a holiday? i got some from my sisters and friends but have ano idea of how to wear them since it's normally too wide to wear as hijab and it's not cold here in malaysia. well, my office is super cold but i already got one pashmina and also a jacket to wear there.

tia from tealovecoffee posted a diy tutorial on how to change your pashmina to a fringe cardigan, which i think is a very brilliant idea! and no, you don't have to cut off any part of your lovely piece of pashmina, just fold and sew a bit and there you go..! a super nice, super fast cardigan that you can match up with your outfit. and i'm sure you ladies out there are creative enough to match up the pashmina with your style.

i have class from 10am till 5pm and off to collect the muffetes from kak wiz. sigh~* back to back class for 7 hours..!! haaaaaaaa!

where to stay in penang?

yeah i'm still not over with my penang trip yet, kali ni nak cerita tentang mana nak tinggal pulak kat penang tu. if you go to penang, where do you normally stay? macam selalu sangat je kan pegi penang? hihi

after my studying years at balik pulau, penang i never spend a night there anymore until last year and latest was last week. and during both visits, i stayed at batu feringghi area, near to the beach. the town is never my choice as it's too packed there with people, with cars and i won't get that vacation feelings there.. plus, i love pantai so much so of course lah akan pilih pantai saja di mana jua berada.

i searched the hotels in penang through agoda. com and found a few nice hotels at batu feringghi area. mostly are rm200 and above per night except for this hydro majestic hotel penang. the rate is very very affordable okay? i wonder why it's so cheap compared to other hotels. it's nice, it has it's own beach but you need to cross the road, the room is clean, the staffs are okay (i don't deal much with them but they were okay la), and the rates are low. murah la compared to other hotels... 

another hotel would be holiday inn penang, also nice.. they are on both sides of the road. beach wing and feringghi tower i think and the rooms are well kept too.. the price are of course higher than hydro but this hotel is located at the hype area so you don't have to drive around to find things to eat or to shop. the night market is here, around this area. reminds me of pantai chenang area at langkawi, kedah. 

at the night market, you can find loads of pirated cd's.. nak apa, semua ada, yang baru release, lama dah release, music cd's, movies and all lah.. then, they have stalls selling those cute decoration lights, selling 'designers' handbags (ada yang cantik okay), clothes and cute souvenirs for tourists.

going for a job interview

back to those days when i just graduated, i didn't really know what to do during a job interview. i mean of course, we answer questions during the interview lah. but small things that can make us look better in the eye of the interviewer are very important right? especially now when it's hard to get a job, so whenever you got an interview make sure that you do your best so u can score the job.

so here are some of job interview do's & don'ts that i can remember and learnt from my current job

for job interviews, do:

1. first of all, do have a decent e-mail address. don't send your resume with e-mail address like lovelygurl@yahoo, or cerewetsgirl@hotmail. please get a decent one, ahmad@yahoo or sabrinasalleh@gmail. keep those cerewets address for your personal use, after all the emails are free right?

2. do your research on the position that you're applying for. it's so you know your job scope or the knowledge you need to prepare yourself with. nothing is better than a knowledgeable candidate. do practice on the questions you think relevant to the job, you can try this

3. do come early, if your interview is scheduled at 3.00pm please be there by 2.30pm. you will need to fill up some forms and that will take time. and being there early can ease yourself a bit, tak la terkejar-kejar and putus nafas nak masuk interview

4. in order to come early, do check out the venue a day earlier. get to know the traffic flow there, if the place is in the city center then leave home early so you won't get stuck in the jam and end up being late. being late means you're wasting the interviewer time and sometimes can lead to cancellation. if you are late, do call and inform the company

5. do greet the people there, or just smile. you don't know who they are right, and any of them could be your boss. you won't lose anything by smiling. nobody likes a stuck up candidate

6. do bring extra copies of resumes, photos and copy of certificates. those are essentials. 

7. do write a thank you e-mail, it helps

for job interviews, please don't:

1. do not memorize facts! or if you did, don't make it sounds like you're memorizing. there are times when we twisted a question, the candidate went blank. but before that she was very fluent at answering the questions. maybe that question was not in her book.

2. do not chew gum

3. do not assume that your resume is good enough to explain about yourself, you need to talk, sell yourself and convince the company on why they should hire you

4. don't be soft spoken. be confident, but don't scream ya?

5. don't lie, in your resume or during the interview. please know that companies will do a background check. your previous company will be contacted. so, no point of lying.

6. don't say 'no' when they ask if you have any questions. ask questions, it will show that you're interested to know about the company. you can ask about the training provided, csr activities and such

7. don't simply put any figure in your expected salary. do ask and survey the current market of your job. don't put too low, or too high. 

these are from my own experience, and what i learnt while working here.

i sure hope these do's & don'ts can help those who are going for a job interview

do you tutti?

have you tried the yogurt ice cream tutti frutti? i went back to ipoh couple of weeks ago and stopped by at the new mall in front of kinta city mall, de garden kot nama dia. a friend of mine was like so into this ice cream and kept on promoting to us on how yummy it is. plus you can press the machine yourself and control how much you want it, and top up with all sorts of chocolate chips, fruits and stuffs.

and so we went to tutti frutti. 

i took a medium size bucket and start filling it up.

once u finished topping up your bucket, then it will be weighed. ha masa itu sila lah keluarkan duit secukupnya. i didn't look or bothered to check how much it is per 100g or what and turned out this medium sized bucket cost me rm17. we looked at each other, and okay since i'm paying haruslah saya yang terkejut. so i just pay and the ice cream better be good for that amount of money.

kesimpulannya, the taste doesn't the price at all. i would be happier eating baskin robbins with that rm17. lagi mahal sikit pun takpe, asalkan sedap. i learnt, now all new things are good. kadang-kadang yang lama tu masih terbaik. :)

 i went to penang but i didn't go anywhere

stayed at the hotel, took a walk at the hotel beach, went to queensbay mall

and back to my room, eat things i eat here in shah alam

queensbay mall, island plaza, and back to hotel

didn't try nasi kandar line clear either

lovely scenery but not so lovely beach

the water is grey, brownish ada plastic bag sana sini

the staffs there were busy asking the tourist to rent their jet ski

trying the parasailing and didn't really bothered about us, the local tourist

went to chowrasta market somewhere near komtar building

went to the second hand book stall, only one was opened

didn't buy anything

when there are too many books to chose from

i went blank

some books are cheap especially the test books

and some are not so cheap considering that they are maybe third hand already

they even sell a nearly rot dictionary :)

• apa-apa quotes yang menarik, atau jokes that you want to share with your readers.. apa-apa yang dapat dari e-mail, kadang-kadang orang lain tak pernah baca or tau pun..
• suggest lagu or movie yang mesti tengok, any of your favorite ones.. ok ini saya suka :)
• tulis tentang your favorite football team ke, kalau korang minat bola la.. sekarang pun tengah hangat demam world cup 2010 kan

the brunei sultan, one of the world richest man, sultan hassanal bolkiah has divorced his second wife, a former tv presenter azrinas mazhar hakim after few years of marriage. and now all of her royal titles are revoked.

hmm.. no news of why she was divorced. well, orang biasa pun ada je bercerai kan, tak heran pun nak tau kenapa, bagaimana, bila and all. tapi sebab ini orang-orang besar, orang glamor, so semua benda orang nak tau.
