tengok tak documentary in the womb at nat geog channel last night? i marked my calendar and set reminder to watch that show. excited lebih kenapa pun tak tau.

couch cushion architecture

didn't we all do this when we were kids?

take off all the cushions and build our own forts or play the buaya-buaya game when we can only step on the cushions (the rest are so called sungai with buaya in it)

brad from buildllc reviewed some admirable couch cushion architectures, which he randomly picked from the internet. 

doesn't this help encouraging kids to be creative? it's just that you have to deal with the mess after the whole fort game is over. you can view more designs here at part 1 and part 2.

we finally made it to i-city after wondering what is so nice there since months ago

we reached there when the lights were just turned on, and the sun was setting down

so called happy. by then crowds has started to come, since shah alam got so limited interesting places so boleh la imagine how many people were here ya

after so long waiting for my sis to snap the photo, this came out. i was like 'are we done yett?? we left at 7.30pm before that place become more crowded. nice place to go if you have good quality camera. mine can't get nice ones at night. ahemmm.. waiting for that big bulky camera from partner..

scheduled what?

here's something that can help you out if you want to announce something at a particular time but you can't be at your computer by then, or if you want to keep on posting to your blog when you're on a vacation. what you have to do is just set the date and time, and blogger will wait to publish your entry until the time comes.

macam mana? go to 'new post' and type your entry. lepas tu, at the bottom of the box there's one toggle button 'post option', click there and the whole edit options will come out. add in your desired date and time. then click the 'publish' button and your entry will become scheduled. 

when the time comes, your post will automatically published to your blog.

your scheduled post will be at your 'edit post' page together with your published and draft posts. so, you can edit it whenever you need to and click 'publish' again. if ever you decide to not publish the post, you can always save the post as draft okay, no worries. but do it before the publish date.

i think i'm somehow responsible for tudung addiction at our little world lately.

since i am so addicted to online shopping, i've influenced my lovelies to also buy things online.

and the latest is buying tudung from online shops, since thursday we've been busy looking around and selecting our favorite ones and yesterday all of us got so excited (yes very much excited over tudungs) and so bising over choosing the scarfs and inners.

food safety

hari ni entry berilmu sikit okay

few days ago i attended a briefing by ministry of health at serdang hospital on food safety latest regulations

all of food handlers (industry, suppliers, restaurants, stalls, whoever handling food for public) are now required to register themselves with moh so that *cough* better monitoring can be done.

i got these in my folder

there were five (5) sessions, on the new amendments, registration, food handler course by moh, license for ice (something new for me) and the monitoring by moh.

during the briefing, i read this. you can see the major differences between the two photos obviously.

you see, they wear like that because we, the consumers/customers don't really care of how they are dressed. no apron, no caps, no hair net or such, slippers, this is normal right? yet we still go to their stalls/restaurants and eat there. so, kenapa nak tukar kalau pelanggan saya tak kesah pun?

sometimes i feel, it's our fault too that they behave like this, because we are not aware or perhaps too scared to use our rights as a consumer. we paid them okay, they should serve us the best they can. but, even if they treated us bad pun, we still shut our mouth or just talk between us. no complaint, no action taken. i am like that too most of the time, only when i really cannot take it then only i'll voice out. i need to learn more on customer/consumer right.

keeping up

when i first started this blog, i wrote it with hope that no one i know will ever find this blog. ever. not that there are secrets in this blog, it's just that i feel free to write without having to worry about what my friends or family may think or say about it. you know, just be myself and write just about anything.

but then, along the way i changed. i started letting my close friends in, started to share few things i like, some friend told other friends, met old friends via blogs and made new friends too. i felt bad reading other blogs without revealing mine. it's like one way thing, i took in without giving out anything at all. 

but sincerely, reading other blogs, much better blogs sometime makes me feel intimidated. some blogs are beautifully decorated, some with thousands of readers, all too interesting and made me feel that i lacked off at so many things. i am so very sure that the owner of course did not mean to intimidate anyone. it's just me. and now that i'm preparing for my wedding, the more i read sometimes makes me feel more tensed. it's like you went to other people's house and it's wayyyy lot better than yours, and you feel so tiny that you feel like you have to do or have the same thing, to keep up with others. when you actually have other more important things to consider. 

i should live with my own ways right? why read something that will add more pressure to myself. i need to deal with my own issues. create entries with my style with what i like. write whatever i feel, link whatever i love and find interesting and keep sharing what i think may be useful for others. i should be thankful with what i have and be happy that other people are happy with what they have. when i told a friend of how i feel she told me, whatever you own does not really matter, but for you to find joy in what you have.. well that matters. 

i hope i don't intimidate anyone with my 3f's. i know i'm far behind to be inspired but i do hope my blog somehow entertained and make people feel better.

i think it's a good idea. sometimes i bought things for no reason, or just buy and never use it (same meaning jugak tu), or buy and regret the minute after. she's right, every purchase has it's own story

friday: rushed from office to uni malaya for communication paper, and then off to klia to fetch my sister. had to wait to one painful hour for them to get their luggage before finally settle down for dinner. balik rumah when she opened her bags, merasa berbaloi terkejar-kejar ke sana sini lepas tengok souvenirs from beijing. i love all of them. thank you sister. do leave again soon and bring home more gifts for me. he he

saturday: cooked makaroni goreng daging from blogresipi. i think they all liked it, sebab habis sekuali spaghetti itu dimakan. cuma tinggal sikit untuk tukang masak :)

sunday: cubaan membuat marshmallow tidak berjaya due to tak cukup ingredient. (we couldn't find corn syrup so we replaced it with just sugar) tapi still tak naik macam icing.. benci. fried some cucur macaroni for dinner.

i lost my convocation photos when my old laptop went dead unannounced last year, but yesterday while going through my folders at the office computer, i found a folder with these photos. the only photos of me with my graduation robe. itupun, bukan on that day itself. t'was on the day we collected the robe, before the convocation.

by then, none of us got cars so we took komuter train from shah alam to bangi. on our way back, we stopped by at midvalley with the ukm huge paperbag going here and there. but, we had fun. now everyone is away.

ada rezeki, i'll wear another robe in few years time :)

i know it's been months since the show, but we only got the chance to view this show now people :) a bit left out i must say...

racism

i feel obligated to write this as i have to play my part as a malaysian. this is my personal view, it's fine if you think differently

recently i received an e-mail from a friend on one racist remarks in facebook, and this morning i read in one blog about a letter to the government to clean up some race. i don't like this issue at all.

i grew up mixing with not just malays. i have indian friends, chinese friends, sabahan & sarawakian. when i travel, i tried to be friendly with people i met, and thank God they were just as nice. at my department, i have fun & witty malay friends, i work with funny & hype chinese qa girls, my close friend at work is one fabulous indian lady. while at my campus, my close friend is wang the helpful lady, thiaga the talking machine, zainee the cynical guy. different race, different beliefs but we can sit and eat together, talking like families with no worries or hatred at all.

and i am so very sure that you guys are just like me. we are fine. we don't have problems with our friends from other races, we do respect each other. we love our friends and care for each other.

receiving such e-mails, with no idea whether what was written there is true or not, is really upsetting. we are fine. but some people out there, is trying really hard to break us apart. they couldn't do it directly, so they do it discreetly like this. i don't blame people from being mad, of course when you read the email you'll feel mad, angry of why are people doing this to your race/religion. of course you'll feel insecure, (for example the cow head case). but look around, are we really doing that? we still go to mamak stall, kopitiam with no harm. we still can go anywhere in this country, we still can celebrate our religious festival, no harm at all.

so please, if you get such e-mails, such racist and full of hatred e-mails, please don't forward it unless you are 100% sure of the reliability of the source. for muslim, like my boss said, if you are not sure of the source, whether it is true or not, it's like spreading fitnah. what if it's not true? but you've forwarded the email to so many people, and there are some who believed it. niat mungkin baik, tapi better be sure of the source.

and to those racist people, i am really sorry for u that u missed the opportunity to learn so many beautiful things from other beautiful people and their beautiful culture.

howdy...!

hellooo so my mission for the weekend are all crossed. sent off my sis to the airport before heading to rawang, stayed there till the evening, went to pasar malam with my sister tailing us. and today, woke up super early to have breakfast at section 13's pasar tani with my sisters and mom and rushing here and there to buy ingredients for cuppies & marshmallow for next week's activity. see...? it's not even monday yet and we already busy making plans for weekend.. that is my sister.

the books? yup managed to sort out some of them while another bag went missing with my cecilia ahern's collection in it. so yes i have a few for my friends. so, you guys know who you are, kindly contact me here.  limited titles, so it's totally on first come first serve basis. 

really had fun these two days, three of my sisters were around together with mom, they cooked lunch (where was i?), we laughed like hell over my niece's babytalk, mom had fun with her grandchildren around her. what else could be better than that right?

another outing awaits us this tuesday, and also for him to be home even though i know it's lambat lagi.. sigh~*
