what to do at perhentian island? with photos

from my experience, i would suggest for you to bring source of entertainment when you go to perhentian island. bring along whatever you can, card games, novel, assignment, text book, frisbee so you won't get bored during your stay. (which we didn't bring)

the beach is quite busy during the day, small taxi boats running here and there picking up and sending people. if you hang around at the beach, you can rent the beach umbrella or payung gerai tu for rm10.. i don't know for how long because we rented but stayed there for like an hour before we got bored and electricity came back to normal.

 

there were too many people hanging out at the beach (since there's no electricity supply during daytime) so please note that there is no such thing as privacy there at pulau perhentian kecil. i heard from the boatman that pulau perhentian besar is more calm and private.

so basically when you go to island like perhentian or redang, you will surely go for snorkeling. at the island, there are quite a lot of snorkeling or diving center that you can walk in and request to go for a snorkeling. we took a package to snorkeling at 6 points of interest for rm40 each. that is the normal price there. (unless kitorang kena tipu) starts from 10am till 4.00pm. if your boat man is kind enough (like ours), he'll let you use the snorkeling gears until 7pm. so, balik tu you can go the bubu long beach at one side of long beach and snorkel there. that's the only part of the island where we can see coral fish.. lovely.

other than the package, you can also take the taxi boat to few other places like pulau perhentian besar, or tuna bay (loads of fish, unlike long beach)

yang lain.. you can go for a sunset trip. at the other side of the island,like 20 minutes boat ride from the long beach. they will happily charge you rm25 for a return trip there. no promise that the sunset will be superbly beautiful as how it looks in photos. it depends on the weather and the cloud. we did go for the sunset trip but the boatman said that the sunset tak menjadi. ha ha

night life? yes they do have few places for those who likes club. you can chose to have your dinner at the beach as there is one row of cafe and restaurants. don't forget to bring extra cash as the food are quite expensive compared to the mainland. but thank God everything I ate there was nice, so no complaint about the price.
